The Partnership for the Future of Medicare (PFM) recognizes the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for mitigating some of the cuts to the Medicare Advantage (MA) program proposed in February; however, we remain concerned about another cut to the MA program following the -6 percent cut that was implemented in 2014. Despite CMS’ revisions in the Final Rate Announcement, the MA program will still face an estimated -3 percent cut in 2015, which does not reflect the strong bi-partisan call for CMS to keep payments flat in 2015.

While the Partnership for the Future of Medicare (PFM) is encouraged by progress made this year, we are disappointed Congress was unable to pass a bi-partisan, permanent solution to repeal and replace Medicare’s flawed Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) formula. Instituting yet another temporary fix only serves to delay important and needed changes that will enhance quality and efficiency in the Medicare program.

Our Mission

The Partnership for the Future of Medicare is a bi-partisan organization focused on ensuring the long-term security of Medicare.
