May 15, 2013 – The Partnership for the Future of Medicare (PFM), a bi-partisan organization dedicated to protecting and improving the Medicare program, announced the addition of Lanhee Chen, Ph.D. to the PFM advisory board.

“We are pleased to announce the addition of Lanhee Chen to the Partnership for the Future of Medicare’s advisory board,” said PFM co-chair Doug Holtz-Eakin, Ph.D. “We welcome Lanhee to the board and believe that his experience will help PFM further its mission as we continue to find commonsense solutions that not only help sustain but also improve the quality of care in the Medicare program.”

“PFM believes in the necessity to promote bi-partisan debate around Medicare. Lanhee’s experiences will add a unique perspective to our current work as we look to expand on our recent recommendations and activities,” said co-chair Ken Thorpe, Ph.D.

Dr. Chen is a research fellow at the Hoover Institution and teaches at Stanford University.  His current research focuses on health policy, economic policy, campaigns and elections, and California policy and politics.  Previously, he served as Policy Director of the Romney-Ryan campaign and was a senior official at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

“I am excited to join the board of the Partnership for the Future of Medicare and to contribute to its important work,” said Chen.  “As the debate over Medicare reform continues, we need groups like PFM to advance commonsense, bi-partisan policy proposals that strengthen the program.”
